Delegate Nicole Williams Newsletter - October
Dear Neighbors and Friends -
As we welcome the fall season, I wish all Prince George’s County families the continuation of a successful working year! During the month of October, we welcome a time of transition and transformation into the season of chilly weather and cozy sweaters. October is also a month that brings more awareness to breast cancer, domestic violence, LGBTQ+ history, Hispanic culture, and ADHD.
Although this newsletter serves the community with uplifting incentives, it’s important to highlight events that shake our surroundings. On September 11th, 2023, 16-year-old Jayda Medrano Moore was shot and killed at DuVal High School, trying to protect her brother. According to her family and community, Jayda was an intelligent, athletic, and vibrant young spirit. A GoFundMe page has been created to help the family pay for burial expenses for Jayda Medrano Moore.
