Meet Nicole

As a 20-year Maryland resident, Nicole was taught that she had a responsibility to be a voice for the unheard.

Raised by a single mom and her grandparents, Nicole learned the importance of keeping your word and honoring your commitments. Nicole embraced this valuable lesson from her bricklayer grandfather, who had only a 6th-grade education, and she has dedicated her life to serving the unheard and underserved. Thankfully, that bricklayer also taught her to fight for what is right and to never back down from a bully, after she was beaten up after school one day by some bullies in the neighborhood. She has taken that lesson to heart in everything she does.

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Nicole got involved in politics because too many of her friends and neighbors were working 2-3 jobs just to keep food on the table and a roof over their families. They were killing themselves working and still falling further and further behind. Unlike the major corporations, regular Maryland families had no lobbyist advocating for them.

She got involved with the Maryland Democratic Party by serving on the Prince George’s Democratic Central Committee and became more involved with the Prince George’s County Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as well as joining the Kiwanis Club of Mitchellville. By working hard and building coalitions, Nicole made real progress on key issues in our community, such as the importance of supporting small businesses, advocating for health care access, and passing legislation that makes our communities safer.

In 2019, she was appointed to the Maryland House of Delegates to serve the people of the 22nd Legislative District. As a Delegate, Nicole immediately got to work advancing legislation to protect women’s rights, healthcare providers, young people, sexual assault victims, and disabled Marylanders. In Annapolis, she strives to be a voice for all Maryland families.

As our nation faces new and uncertain times, Nicole is running for Congress to continue speaking out for the unheard and voiceless. The passion that her grandfather instilled in her to stand up to bullies could not be more important in our current political environment. The families of the 5th Congressional District deserve a fighter who is unafraid to stand up, be heard, and fight back!
